About

Nuray was raised by her mother and grandmother in a large Sicilian-American family.  She received her BFA from Purchase College, and then went on to become an author, herbalist, and spiritual mentor.

Nuray's new book, Awaken In Fire, weaves together her love for nature and animals, and the compassion she carries within her. She wrote this book to remind young people of the magic that surrounds them everyday in the plant world, and in the miraculous creatures they share the earth with.

It is with honor and gratitude that she thanks her family and her ancestors for giving her the strength to present part one of this story of strength and resilience. She dedicates this book to her grandmother, and mother, and to all of the fearless women with whom she shares the bond of blood and cellular memory.

Nuray lives in Buffalo, NY with her beloved husband, daughter, and dog Snape.  You'll find her taking long walks in nature, talking to her beautiful songbird friends, and making herbal medicines.
